I was born in Detroit, Michigan, but I’ve been a fixture of Charlottesville for the past 20 years, with a four-year return to the Midwest as a student at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where my primary interests included hiking, reading, running over hurdles, and avoiding classes that had lab sessions. My interests within emergency medicine include ultrasound and EMS. The current policy tendency towards budget cuts is contradictory to sustainable policy-making. Education has flung us about for a while! I realized early in medical school that Emergency Medicine was the perfect fit for me after shadowing in the ER during the preclinical years and I am excited to finally be pursuing training in the field.
